started his solo backpacking journey around the world in the
early 70s. With the solid foundation he laid during his high
school art classes and constant practices, Tham had no
problem capturing the place and scene he experienced into
his paintings. During his 3 years and 2 months journey
abroad, Siew Inn held art exhibitions along the way to help
fund his trip.
to his hometown - Klang in 1974. Unsurprisingly, exhibiting
and selling his paintings of foreign sceneries alone was not
enough. To support his living, he had to teach children art
classes. During this time, Siew Inn continued with is
creative endeavors. Gradually, his topic shifted back to his
homeland - Malaysia, a tropical paradise with endless
mountains filled with emerald forest.
